When I was growing up in Portland we had one storm that pretty much immobilized things for a week. Streets closed, power lines down, dogs and cats living together. Etc. [It must be something about me, since I was in El Paso when it had a once in the century rain storm. Since they pretty much have no storm drains, the cars start floating pretty fast. Then I was in Albuquerque for camping when the skies opened wide, the arroyos filled and we escaped like rats. I am the rain (or snow) man!] Sorry to hear about the bonus round of chaos in your life. (I had six snow days last winter, that's five more than I ever had in Minnesota.) Those of us who happen to be from places where an inch of snow is like a good frost just don't drive here when it snows. Not that we can't cope with the snow, its the amateurs that we have to share the road with that make things dangerous.
