I suggest St. John’s in the US Virgin Islands as a really beautiful beach. I think that you can even fly direct to St. Thomas and there are probably some pretty good deals to be had there. I suppose you could go hang out at the beach near Lakeside Amusement Park but I think those big old carp would probably eat you up.

Corrections: it’s a 16-hour drive straight through, and I forgot there’s plenty of parking in Vegas – that should save you some shoe leather.

If you’re talking about an ocean beach, there’s one 20 hours’ drive away from Denver – right at the end of I-10 at Santa Monica Pier. But what with parking and all, it’s probably easier to leave the car at home and just walk there.

Easiest of all, a few drinks or a mild concussion can make the shores of Sloan’s Lake close enough to satisfy…
