DMR, you've got thousands of files in one directory? I'm not sure how various OS's deal with that these days.

yellojkt, FOMA* was always a must read back when I was must-reading. I need to get back into that. Please don't ever let your blog go the way of mine!

I spent hours archiving data to my LAN drive, including mp3s. I finally got my music files straightened out in iTunes, got all the cover art fixed. Deleted duplicates on the HDD, and now.... I can't access the mp3 archive folder over the LAN. It still works when I connect it via it's USB cable (at least I think it still does). Is there a problem with reading directories via LAN with there's thousands of files in one directory? I can't blame Windows, 'cause I get same result from Linux. Might be the software on my LAN drive. I ran a diagnostic scan and the HDD had no errors. I guess that's what I get for buying a cheap drive.

It's coming along... I had to transfer everything over to the new computer and make sure it still works there. No problems so far, except the laptop drive rips really slowly.
