Transformations

Saw the movie Monster today. I agree with the critics that Charlize Theron’s performance is amazing. She totally transformed herself. I thought Christina Ricci did a pretty good job too. Since the movie really is about the relationship of their two characters, they both have to be believable. However, I’m not sure the movie as a whole deserves all the accolades it’s getting, such as Roger Ebert christening it the best movie of 2003. Perhaps I wasn’t as enraptured as I should’ve been. But definitely give Charlize the Oscar, guys. Those black eyes were creepy.

I could’ve done without the Journey music. And Steve Perry got a “musical advisor” or some such credit.

I’m surprised it was only showing at one theater in town. The turnout was pretty good for an early Sunday show.
