Goodbye Lion, Hello Cheetah

Got my car back yesterday, all nice and shiny and new-like, with the hail damage repaired. Looks like the body shop did a good job, thankfully. I had one issue with the molding around the windshield, which they are going to replace next week. And there seems to be some sort of vibration noise or something when I play the stereo through the rear speakers, but it strangely seems to be coming from the roof area. I’ll have to investigate that further. Maybe it’s just a damaged speaker and my ears are tricked into hearing it come from a different place. Other than that, I’m really happy with it. Everything looks good and seems to be in working order.

But of course this meant that I had to say my tearful good-byes to the huge rental SUV, just when we were getting to know each other. Though once I got back behind the wheel of my tiny (but sporty) little RSX, I couldn’t believe how much I missed it. Okay, so I’ll no longer be able tower menacingly above and intimidate the drivers of small cars, and I won’t be able to uncaringly wedge myself into traffic holes with utter disregard for whoever’s in back of me (not to mention for my own safety), but now I can stealthily maneuver into gaps and accelerate quickly again. Even though the SUV had a bigger engine, it had more tonnage to power, so it wasn’t always too quick on the get-go.

So I’m glad I have my little stealth-mobile back looking good and in good working order, and I just hope that the hail season is over for another year. And oh yeah, I’m glad that I can fill the gas tank for $20 instead of $40.

Latre.
