Ain’t Got No Henhouse

Posted on | September 11, 2004 at 10:42 am | 6 Comments

Found a fox napping in my backyard this morning:

More pix from my sucky old digital camera here, here, and
here.

The white stripe in some photos is a reflection off the window. I probably could’ve gotten some better pictures if I’d gone into the yard, but I was afraid I’d scare him away. So all I got was pix through the windows. I took some with my regular camera also – hopefully those came out better.

I’ve seen many foxes in the area while I run in the morning, mostly from 40 feet away or so as they dash across the street in front of me and run into people’s yards. But this is the first time I’ve seen one this close and in my own yard. They are very prevalent in this area and many establishments have “Fox” in the name. This one hung around for about a half hour or so after I discovered him, following the shade around. Then he crawled through the fence and into my neighbor’s yard.

I love Colorado!

Latre.

Alan, as usual, I have no idea what you’re talking about with your hip pop culture references.

Patty, I think we were talking about the Sin City movie at the time. Check out the footage if you can – it looks great!

Oh, lordy, but I love that critter. Foxes are sort of the best of both cats and dogs all rolled up into one feral varmint.
