No English Accent Either

My friends Ben (frequent blog commenter InfK) and Fahey just brought a new youngun’ into the world, Spike Riley Scott. No, they’re not Buffy/Angel fans, and I don’t think the kid has fangs (yet). Though he may have fans (which is what I originally typed) already. Spike was born in Australia to an Aussie mom and a Yank dad, so I presume that gives him dual citizenship. And awesome surfing skills.

In other news, I’m off this week on vacation, but it doesn’t look like I’m going anywhere. You’d think it would be a good time to get some promised things done, like updating my blog, posting the Columbus trip and Renn Faire wedding pictures to Flickr, and answering e-mail. But you’d be wrong. I’m having too much fun playing with my PDA (Palm TX), running errands involving my dad, re-ripping and re-cataloging my CD collection, trying to catch up on my DVD and TV watching, and trying to get some book and comic reading done. I need a six week sabbatical to actually get everything done that I want to do.

Latre.

The “Buffy” reference did not occur to us; Spike is named for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_Milligan who is one of Fahey’s favorite comedians with a name she thinks is cool and which I at least reckon is easy to spell on the phone. “Riley” is for in case he doesn’t like Spike!
